Nordic Skating is a hybrid of ice skating and cross country skiing. The ice blades have a pair of XC ski bindings mounted on them, which allow for an XC boot to be used while skating. The result is a long fast skate, closer to a speed skate than an ice hockey skate that most people are used to.
